How to add money on Paytm wallet?
Here is a step-by-step guide to help you add money on the Paytm wallet:
- Open the Paytm app.
- On the app home screen, tap on the ‘Add Money’ option.
- Enter the amount that you wish to transfer to the Paytm Wallet.
- Tap on the ‘Add Money’ button to proceed with the transaction.
- Select the payment option (Debit card/Credit card/ Net banking) through which you want to transfer money to the Paytm wallet.
- Enter your bank or card details such as Card number, expiry date and CVV to proceed with the transaction.
- Tap on the ‘Pay Now’ button to complete the transaction.
Once your transaction is successful, you will receive an order summary with a congratulatory message stating that the desired amount has been added to your Paytm wallet.
Paytm users can easily and conveniently pay or send money to their contacts or to the merchants who use Paytm services through their smartphones. There is no extra cost involved for any number of payments made through the Paytm app. The users can pay or send money using the app through two ways, which are given as follows:
Option 1: Scan QR Code
If you wish to pay or send money to anyone through Paytm, you can do it in two ways. One of the ways is by scanning the QR code displayed by the retailer. To learn to pay or send money through QR code, follow these steps:
- Open the Paytm app.
- On the app home screen, tap on the ‘Pay or Send’ option.
- Scan the QR code.
- Enter the desired amount.
- Tap on the ‘Pay’ button to proceed with the payment.
Once your transaction is successful, you will receive an order summary with a congratulatory message stating that the desired amount has been paid.
Option 2: Mobile Number
The second and the easier way to send and pay money using Paytm Wallet is through the mobile number of the Paytm account holder. To do so, follow these steps:
- Open the Paytm app.
- On the app home screen, tap on the ‘Pay or Send’ option.
- Tap on the “Mobile No.” option.
- Enter the mobile number of the person to which you want to pay or send the money. If you don’t remember the number, you can choose it from your contacts.
- Enter the desired amount.
- Tap on the ‘Send Money’ button to proceed with the payment.
Once your transaction is successful, you will receive an order summary with a congratulatory message stating that the desired amount has been paid.
To accept money using Paytm app, follow the steps given as below:
- Open the Paytm app.
- On the app home screen, tap on the ‘Accept Payment’ option.
- You can accept payments in three ways:
- QR Code
If you want people to send you money by scanning your QR code, ask the concerned person to scan your QR code. Tap on the ‘Show Paytm QR Code’ option, to show the concerned person your QR code. You can also take a screenshot of the QR code and send it via Whatsapp or e-mail to the concerned person. The sender on receiving the QR code can tap on the ‘Scan Paytm QR Code from Gallery’ option in their Paytm app and pay the requested amount instantly.
- Debit/Credit Card
If you want to request money from your customers or a concerned person, tap on the ‘Accept Debit/Credit Card’ option. Enter the amount you’re requesting. Enter the concerned person’s mobile number. You may also enter description regarding the payment. Tap on the ‘Send Payment Request’ to proceed sending the payment request to the concerned person. The concerned person will receive the request on their smartphone and if the request is accepted or rejected will be notified to you instantly on your Paytm app.
- UPI
Right now, you cannot accept money through UPI. But this facility is coming soon for the Paytm customers.
Also, the Paytm users can accept money either in their Paytm wallet or in their bank accounts. The money will get transferred instantly, if you choose the money to be transferred in your Paytm wallet. If you wish to receive money in your bank account then choose ‘Bank Account’ in the ‘Accept Payment’ option. Transferring money to your bank account, however, might take some hours.
Also, the Paytm users can accept money either in their Paytm wallet or in their bank accounts. The money will get transferred instantly, if you choose the money to be transferred in your Paytm wallet. If you wish to receive money in your bank account then choose ‘Bank Account’ in the ‘Accept Payment’ option. Transferring money to your bank account, however, might take some hours.
The Paytm customers also have an option of transferring money from their Paytm account to their bank account. They can do so by following the some easy steps given below:
- Open the Paytm app.
- On the app home screen, tap on the ‘Passbook’ option.
- Select ‘Send Money to bank’ option.
- Tap on ‘Transfer’ to proceed with the transfer of the money to your bank account.
- Enter your bank details such as the amount that you wish to transfer from Paytm wallet, your bank account number and bank’s IFSC.
- Tap on the ‘Send’ option to complete the transaction.
Once the transaction is initiated, you will receive a summary of your Paytm updated balance with a congratulatory message stating that the desired amount has been successfully transferred to your bank account. Transferring money from your Paytm account to your bank account may take up to seven days.
The Paytm customers can view the balance in their Paytm wallet anytime. They can even view their previous transactions on the app. To do so, the Paytm users just have to follow a few steps given below:
- Open the Paytm app.
- On the app home screen, tap on the ‘Passbook’ option.
On the passbook page, you can see your Paytm balance as well as the previous transactions that you made using the app. The passbook shows you the transaction summary of the money that was paid and received through Paytm. The Paytm passbook also shows the transaction summary of the time when you had added money to the Paytm account.
